This pattern is called BEAUMONT'S COLUMBIA and was made by Beaumont Glass Co. It was released in 1899. The original name is BEAUMONT #100. It has been called BEAUMONT'S COLUMBIA or COLUMBIA-BEAUMONT due to another pattern called COLUMBIA. This was originally made as souvenir wear. A lot of the shapes in this pattern have an upper portion that is blank, perfect for engraving "MOM", "GRANDMA" or "CONEY ISLAND". The pattern is extensive. These two are a couple of the more rare shapes to find in this color: the tobacco humidor and the pickle castor. The pickle jar was sold to silverplate companies, who married it to their own frames. It is standard size, so it fits most pickle castor frames with an inside rim diameter of 3".
