Jockey Cap

Jockey Cap
Description : While there is no catalog reference for JOCKEY CAP to have been made by King & Co., the attribution comes from the lids being very similar for both the JOCKEY CAP and HELMET butter dishes. Both have alternating panels of Daisy/Button and horizontal bars. In Sanford's book, VICTORIAN GLASS NOVELTIES, they show a catalog reference for the barrel spice carrier and the helmet butter, and the original notation states: clear, amber, blue. However, the barrel spice carrier is shown in Glickman's YELLOW GREEN VASELINE book in vaseline, and King was known to have made other pieces in vaseline (see SOAP DISH posting in this category).

So far, this is the only vaseline glass version of this butter dish that has surfaced in the collector hobby world.
